Civil Servants Using Public Transport Must Report with Timestamp Every Wednesday

All civil servants in Jakarta are required to report with a timestamp when leaving and returning from work using public transportation every Wednesday.

Exemptions for those who receive discretion such as sick employees, pregnant employees, or those on field duty

Jakarta Employement Agency Head, Chaidir said reports made through selfies accompanied by location, time, and date descriptions must be submitted to the personnel administration, via the media specified by each regional device.

Then, the HR admin performs a recap and verification of the selfie data based on the employee list.

"Exemptions for those who receive discretion such as sick employees, pregnant employees, or those on field duty," he explained, Wednesday (4/30).

The report was submitted to the leaders of the regional apparatus for verification, then forwarded to the Governor through the Head of Transportation Agency, with a copy sent to the Head of Jakarta Regional Employment Agency (BKD).

According to him, this obligation is part of the Governor's Call Number 6/2025, which will take effect on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

"This policy aims to create a culture of using public transportation among civil servants, support green mobility, as well as reduce pollution and congestion," he uttered.

As information, the public transportation modes referred to include Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, LRT Jakarta and Jabodebek, KRL commuter line, Railink, regular buses/minivans, ships, and employee shuttle vehicles.

The heads of regional devices are responsible for supervising their employees' compliance with this regulation.
